This eight-inch, two-way speaker is built specifically for marine use, with heavy-duty construction that strenuously resists water, corrosion, heat--and boring music. Pioneer research showed that more bass is required for boating applications, and this one delivers. Pioneer Nautica Speakers Designed from the ground up to meet current boating/marine requirements, Pioneer's new marine speakers incorporate superior components and design to improve sound and resist the wear and tear associated with harsh, wet environments. Water-resistant injection molded polypropylene (IMPP) composite cones, elastomer surrounds, acrylonitrile-elastomer styrene (AES) glass fiber reinforced basket/magnet covers and gold tinsel wire are all incorporated in the new Nautica speakers to endure rusting, corrosion and warping. TS-MR2040 Features Water-resistant IMPP Composite Cone Pioneer's popular injection molded polypylene (IMPP) cones produce outstanding mid-bass response and resist the effects of salt water, humidity and extreme heat. 3/4-Inch Poly-Imide Reflex Horn Tweeter The Reflex Horn design is a Pioneer innovation that delivers stunning high frequencies while at the same time providing protection for the tweeter from moisture. Elastomer Surround Each speaker utilizes an elastomer surround that resists color fading or running, which extends the longevity of the product. Acrylonitrile-Elastomer Styrene (AES) Glass Fiber Reinforced Basket/Magnet Cover The AES cover protects the magnetic circuit that can affect the performance of the speaker. The speakers also sport the pure white AES grilles to resist fading and yellowing caused by direct sunlight and heat. astounding sound quality : Kenwood Excelon KAC-X10D Mono subwoofer amplifier 600 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms

comparing to my old amp, all things hits harder and strong with this amp. Previously the bass would kinda rumble with my old amp but with this in place with the same subs its amazing. It never even warms up even with heavy use like my old one, when you touch the amp its cool to the touch. The only thing i dont like about it which is only 1 question is that the allen wrench they provide you with does not fit the allen screws which hold the cover plate on its like a size under for what you need. <- which is no big deal because it still works, although my bass makes the screws rattle up and out of the amp because i cant tighten them down as hard as i'd like to.

by the way this amp had sufficient power to unbolt my chimsel lamp and bounce it all colse to on the back window. <- my solution... Threadlock
