I recently decided to upgrade the speaker system in my 2003 Infiniti G35 Sports Coupe. While the car comes with what is supposed to be Bose speakers, we have since found out that the components are not actually manufactured by Bose and while I am not picking on that issue, the coupe really needed some help in the audio department. Bass was bad, the mid-range cloudy and the tweeters - well if you tried real hard you could actually tell that some sort of sound was coming from them.

The tweeter location in the G35 is the forward upper edge of the door panel, a perfect location for tweeters. Installation required a bit of engineering as I wanted to use the stock connections and mounting hardware, but if you are handy with tools it is a simple procedure. They are a perfect fit and once installed with the panels back on, you would never know they were changed out until you turned on the system. Wow, I can now actually hear the tweeters with tones that are rich and very distinct. I normally listen to a lot of satellite radio along with a personal CD collection and the change in the system is on par with quieter, more expensive vehicles. A G35 Sports Coupe is a very interesting combination of luxury and performance but there are trade-offs in each area. A quiet car it is not, so the audio system needs to be able to overcome that noise with something that is not just loud and harsh. The Polk Audio tweeters are a significant improvement in that area and I highly recommend them.
